CARNIVAL BUILD DAY! PROJECT 5

Project 5:SET UP PORCH: DEADLINE: 11:00am

Part 1: Create flower boxes

1. Measure the “front of house”.

2. Create a long rectangle box using the wall as one side and 3 stacked 2x4s for the other sides. The boxes should only come out from the wall by 8 inches.

3. Attach to “front of house”. We will fill the boxes after later.

NOTE that there is a small lip on the bottom of the bookshelf being used as the front of house wall—you will need to use a 1x6 on the bottom of your 2x4s to accommodate this lip.

Part 2: ASSEMBLE GATE

1. Remove any furniture from “porch” area.

2. Locate all white picket fence pieces and their braces.

3. Set these up in the porch area. The “gate” (small one) should be placed by the actual door to the classroom (by the light switch). We will secure them tomorrow.
