Support West Mesa Theater!

Most people are shocked to find out the expenses of putting on a show. 

Each show costs between $1,000 all the way up to $15,000 or more!  

 

Why so much? Well--there are a LOT of things that go into each show.  

 

First, we have to pay for rights--that alone can cost nearly $500 for a small production.  If we want to put on a well known show, such as Big Fish, those royalties will cost us nearly $2,000!  This does not include music rights, which generally run an additional $500. Then, we have to pay for all of the materials and construction of our sets, props, costumes and makeup.  If we need special choreography or outside musicians, they will need to be paid.  Finally, we have to pay for the cost of getting our show out there.  Marketing a show means printing costs, advertisment costs and plenty of volunteer hours! By the time we are finished putting on a show like Big Fish, it will cost us nearly $10,000. Smaller shows like A Thousand Cranes will run closer to $1,500.

 

This is where YOU come in.  As you can imagine, raising $10,000 to put on a show like Big Fish is an incredible feat.  Now, add that to the other 5 or 6 smaller shows we will put on every year and you can see that our annual expenses will run to nearly $20,000!  

 

We cannot do this without the generous support of sponsors and donors like YOU. Every donation is tax deductible and every donation helps us produce great theater in our community, allows our students to grow in and experience the Arts, and even opens up opportunities for them to earn scholarships for college!

 

Please consider making a donation or becoming a sponsor.  You can be a sponsor as a business or as an individual.  No donation is too small (or too big!). In return for your generosity, we will: 

  • give you a receipt of donation for tax purposes and a certificate of donation to display 

  • print your name or business in our show program for all donations over $100

  • include your company logo in our show program for all donations over $200

  • give you 1/2 page of advertising space in our show program for all donations over $500

  • give you a full page ad AND talk about your company at the curtain talk each night of the producion for all donations over $1000 (usually 4-5 shows)

  • List you as Principle Sponsor, give you a plaque to display, two VIP tickets to every production, plus a full page ad in EVERY show program of the season AND talk about your incredible support at the curtain talk each night for every production in the season (30-35 shows) for all donations over $5,000. 

  • For every donation, of course, we will be eteranally grateful and you will have helped your community experience great theater AND supported youth in achieving their dreams and striving for the future!
